Mudakathan Keerai or Cardiospermum halicababum, is known as Indravalli in Sanskrit. This medicinal plant acts against joint pain, inflammation, bowel problems and abdominal discomfort. Even though it has a lot of medicinal values, it is not used in regular cooking because of its rare availability. The thokku prepared with the leaves of Indravalli has a delicious taste and can be incorporated into daily intake along with dosa, Idli , upma and rice varieties. Nature has given us with many wonderful medicinal herbs which have amazing healing properties and Mudakathan is one of them.
