Renault India To Increase Its Share

Renault India is planning to increase the number of outlets in the country so as to raise its national market share to 5% by the end of 2016. Sumit Sawhney, country CEO and managing director of the company said Renault India will add 60 more outlets to its current 210, by the end of the year. We had hoped to raise our market share to 5% by the end of 2017. But given the growth rate, we may be able achieve it by the end of this year, he said. According to him the response to the company's new offering Kwid in the compact hatchback segment has been encouraging with more than 1.25 lakh bookings. He said Kerala is one of the important markets for the company accounting for over 7% of its sales. To extend its coverage of the state, the company will open three more outlets in the next few months to add to its existing ten outlets. We will invest around Rs 40 crore for expansion in the state, said Srinivasa Raghavan, CEO and global president (senior) of TVS, dealer partner of Renault India.
